Where to Ask

Columbia County inmate and booking questions may involve the jail, the sheriff's records staff, VINE, the Wisconsin courts, the Wisconsin DOC, or a federal locator. Sheriff Roger L. Brandner and Chief Deputy Gregory M. Bisch are listed by the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, but routine records and custody questions should go to the correct office or portal rather than to this private site.

For sheriff's records, email openrecords@columbiacountywi.gov or call (608) 742-4166 and select extension 2. The printable request form asks for the requester name, case number if known, date of birth, contact details, delivery method, and a specific description of the records requested. Records may be redacted under Wis. Stat. ch. 19 and other laws, and redaction fees may apply where Wisconsin law permits.
